Beautiful hair starts with the right aftercare. Following these simple guidelines will help keep your Strandea Hair extensions looking soft, healthy and luxurious for longer.
Daily Care Guide
Washing
- Use sulphate-free and extension-friendly shampoo and conditioner.
- Wash gently, concentrating shampoo on the scalp and avoiding excessive rubbing around the attachment points.
- Always condition the mid-lengths and ends, keeping conditioner away from the bonds, tapes or rings.
- Avoid washing your hair every day where possible.
Brushing
- Use a professional extension brush and brush gently from the ends upwards.
- Support the roots and attachment areas when brushing.
- Brush your hair regularly, particularly before sleeping and before washing.
- Never pull or tug at the extensions.
Sleeping
- Never go to bed with wet or damp hair.
- Gently dry your hair before sleeping and tie it loosely in a low ponytail or braid.
- A silk or satin pillowcase can help reduce friction and tangling.
Heat Styling
- Always use a heat-protection product before using heated styling tools.
- Avoid applying direct heat to the bonds, tapes or rings.
- Keep heat styling to a minimum to protect both your natural hair and extensions.
Swimming & Holidays
- Chlorine and salt water can cause dryness, tangling and colour changes.
- Wet your hair with fresh water before swimming and apply a suitable leave-in conditioner.
- Tie hair loosely and avoid vigorous rubbing.
- Rinse thoroughly with fresh water after swimming.
- If possible, wear a swimming cap for extra protection.
